A total of 20 Mexican startups will compete in the International Pitch Competition (IPC) against companies from Greece, Norway, India, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Israel, Italy, Romania and Switzerland during the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. March 7 to 10 in the city of Austin, Texas.
A cooperation between the US and Mexico?
The winning startups will have access to an annual program of the accelerator International Accelerator (IA) in Austin, and an investment of 50 thousand dollars, financing, support in the collection of up to 500 thousand dollars in funds, as well as accompaniment and international linkage.
In this festival will be present global leaders to expose perspectives and estimates in terms of artificial intelligence in business, the construction of smart cities, the profitability of diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion in the media and how Latin America will emerge as the “hotspot” for investors from Silicon Valley and China, through panels, conferences, exhibitions, tastings, concerts and film shows.

In addition, Tec de Monterrey’s entrepreneurial platform, INCmty, promoted the Meetup Mexico: The Best Startups and Cuisine event during the festival so that entrepreneurs connect with investors, organizations and the public interested in supporting and generating business synergies.
Mexican groups such as L3on, Sebastián Romero, Fer Casillas, Edna and The Musicians, Akil Amar, David Aguilar, Tony True and The Tijuana Tres, Commissioner Pantera, Agrupación Cariño and Pehuenche will also be presented and there will be exhibitions of Huichol art, from the “Mix -Tlán “and pieces of the Day of the Dead parade in Mexico City, by the artistic workshop El Volado.
Previously, 10 Mexican startups selected to compete in the IPC during Casa México in SXSW had been announced. However, INCmty and the Texas accelerator of companies, Tech Ranch, selected another 10 high impact social startups in Mexico, with the potential to scale globally and expand to the United States, including: Apolo Health, CBM Chemical, Collective Academy, Eosis Consulting Inc, Green Hug, Integratec, Ketotrace, Monitor, THEA and Winko.

This is the fourth year in which the Tecnológico de Monterrey and its entrepreneurship platform INCmty participate as organizers of Casa México in SXSW, an initiative to place the country in a showcase of entrepreneurship worldwide and detonate high-impact networking among entrepreneurs , incubators, accelerators, investors and foreign funds.
