The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is a non-profit organization primarily responsible for developing standards and rules for the advertising industry. Aside from that, the organization is dedicated to doing research in the field of interactive advertising and training those in the advertising profession.
IAB categories, commonly known as the “Quality Assurance Guidelines Taxonomy,” are used to categorize mobile advertisements. This enables the right advertisements to be given to the right audience at the right time and in the right location. It increases customer confidence and gives advertisers a greater opportunity to identify and categorize their inventory.
It counts with a trust stamp, which provides you with the assurance you require before entering into a potential business collaboration, and quality control, which targets your mobile campaigns in a more effective way and avoids useless ads.
How Can You Get This IAB Categorization?
You can get this through an API. This is a software middleman that allows two programs to communicate with one another. When you send a command, the API returns an answer, this time being an IAB categorization.
For getting that API, we recommend three softwares:
1. Klazify
Klazify is a well-known URL categorization API that is lauded for its ease of use by both professional and non-professional programmers.
It’s an API that connects to a domain or URL, gets data, and categorizes it using an IAB V2 Standard classification taxonomy for one-on-one customization, marketing segmentation, online filtering, and other uses. As a consequence, the URL or domain may now be classified.
The Website Categorization API scans a website’s content and meta tags using a Machine Learning engine. It uses Natural Language Processing to classify online material into up to three classes (NLP).
To classify a website, go to www.klazify.com, create an account, and then paste and submit the URL of the website you want to categorize. This is how you’ll discover everything you can about any brand you’re interested in.
2. Brandfetch
Brandfetch is a cloud service that allows designers, developers, media professionals, and others to find all of a brand’s assets. It may reveal any company’s corporate identity in a matter of seconds. It’s also quite simple to use: on the home page, simply input a brand name or URL. The logos, colors, primary typography, and associated images for the brand will then be retrieved.
3. Webshrinker
Before proceeding with threat detection, Webshrinker will go to the specified domain or URL, extract its content, and categorize it using one of two taxonomies (native-Webshrinker classification or IAB taxonomy). As a result, based on the taxonomy, the URL or domain can now be allocated to a certain bucket. The Screenshot API service also captures and makes available a screenshot of the destination in a real browser (such as Chrome or Firefox).
Webshrinker is very good at detecting phishing sites, particularly ones that seem like financial websites. The image analyzing abilities of Webshrinker play a part in this. As the content is evaluated, the algorithm assigns different score values to different portions of it. If these scores are low, the algorithm is certain that the material is authentic and not phishing or deceptive. If they are excessively high, the system will classify the data as deceptive.
