XPENG Motors, a China-based electric car start-up, plans to massively advance its own e-offensive in 2019. It was not until mid-December that the start-up introduced its first commercial electric car model, the Xpeng G3. He carries Tesla genes, as we have already reported.
Growing at high speed
From December to spring, the capacity will be increased accordingly, and then from March 2019 to carry out a large-scale delivery at high speed. To ensure on-time delivery, the startup is ready to open 15 direct sales outlets in some so-called first and second tier cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou before the Spring Festival. There are now 70 offline direct sales locations planned for 2019 in 30 Chinese cities.
Employing is the key
Furthermore, “we plan to employ 5,000 people in 2019, including 2,300 regular employees, as He Xiaopeng, chairman of the startup, said in an internal e-mail. Xiapoeng also said that this year, they will focus on the delivery and operation of vehicles and will continue to invest investment and resources in research and development and in the innovation of products and technologies”.
Why is it a huge startup?
Intelligence, research, development and operations are the core engine that makes XPENG Motors unique and that’s why they decided that the number of independent research, development and innovation people is more than 50% of the total workforce.
