Former Lovoo CEO Alexander Friede joined Dresdner startup food newcomer. This wants to help founders to sell their food products.
“Off to the shelf with you” – this is how the new Dresden startup Food Newcomer advertises for customers. As an agency, the company wants to help food startups enter the market. Foodnewcomer was officially founded in October last year by Eric Thieme, but according to German startups he has been running the company since the beginning of 2018.
Investors and co-founders have already joined
In March, former Lovoo CEO Alexander Friede and business angel Sören Frost joined as investors and co-founders. Thieme met her through the Gründerberatung Gründernest, where Friede and Frost work. Thieme now holds 40 percent of the startup, its co-founders 30 each, which sum they put into the startup, is not known.
An innovative service
Foodnewcomer advises startups and manufacturers on the market launch of their products and offers them a logistics service. This means that the agency buys the goods from the startups, stores them between them and places them in retail stores. The advantage for the manufacturers is that they can sell and deliver a large amount of products to food newcomers instead of having to supply each retailer separately with smaller quantities. With a similar concept, the startup purchase safari is also on the market.
Working to be the best
They want to “build the best trading platform for food startups and Beverages” writes the Food Newcomer team on its website. Whether the startup already cared for customers, however, is not known.
