Netflix general panorama
Netflix is on everyone’s lips this week. Only at the beginning of the week the streaming service shocked with the announcement to want to attract the prices in the USA clearly. On Thursday, the US company announced its quarterly figures. Accordingly, 8.84 million paying customers were added worldwide in the fourth quarter. In between, a total of 139 million households are customers. Netflix saw particularly strong gains from international subscribers, with fewer US customers signing up than expected.

Disappointed, investors reacted to the sales figures, although these increased by more than a quarter compared to the previous year to 4.2 billion US dollars. Net income declined 28 percent to $ 134 million, ahead of forecasts, after Netflix invested in numerous in-house productions. According to Netflix, it now occupies ten percent of television time in the US. The biggest competition is no longer television offers, but video games like Fortnite.
