Web Directories and Search Engines are not the same.
These two terms have plenty of differences, the main one is that Search Engines are massive databases of online pages compiled by computers. On the other hand, Web Directories are created by humans and the principal purpose is to classify URLs.
Individual websites are organized into subject categories that can be searched. Directory databases, overall, are smaller than search engine databases.
Web site developers submit site descriptions to the directory, which are then reviewed, selected, and entered in the directory by editors.
Since this is a manpower job, there’s an API that allows developers to look up the categories associated with a specific URL, website, domain name, or IP address. Klazify.com has three top-level category structures from which to pick.
This is how Klazify Works:
Klazify’s categorization is ideal for internet filtering and website developing applications. They support almost all of the world’s languages, as well as all of the available domains.
Whether you want the IAB taxonomy’s categorization or prefer a more straightforward category structure, both options are available at Klazify
Website Categorization API scans a website’s content and meta tags with a Machine Learning engine. It uses Natural Language Processing to extract text to classify the site and assign up to three categories.
Klazify will visit the requested domain, collect the material, and categorize it appropriately using the IAB V2 Standard classification. This can be used for 1-to-1 personalization, marketing segmentation, online filtering, and other purposes. As a result, the URL or domain can now be assigned to a particular category.
