The Berlin start-up provides office furniture and infrastructure for a fee. An investment in the millions should now help to further expand the business.
Desk, swivel chair, smartphone – but also telephone box or table football: In several catalogs, the start-up Lendis presents many elements of office furniture that companies can rent through the site. Now, Lendi’s list of other companies has added further entries: Venture capital providers HV Holtzbrinck Ventures and DN Capital join Lendis.
They are part of a fresh round of financing in the single-digit millions
In addition, the existing investor Picus Capital also increases its investment, and the Kaufda founder Christian Gaiser and the Billie founders Matthias Knecht and Christian Grobe are also investing in Lendis.
With the fresh capital, the company started last year wants to grow further. According to their own information, about 100 customers are currently renting parts of their office equipment via the start-up. These include corporations as well as medium-sized companies and start-ups as well as coworking spaces.
Flexible rental of desk & Co.
Lendis wants to help companies to build and rebuild jobs flexibly – without having to worry about the various suppliers. For example, the start-up “transfers the principles of the sharing economy to office management,” says new investor Nenad Marovac of DN Capital. If you rent a desk and chair for three years from Lendis, you should be able to do this from 15 euros per month. For laptops, a similar tariff applies – a look through the catalog shows, however, that for newer models rather the multiple of this monthly rent is required.
In some areas Lendis competes with different start-ups
Roomhero from Frankfurt performs with a very similar offer. Grover, for example, specializes in the rental of electronics and also targets business customers. 99 Chairs had specialized in setting up offices for companies until the bankruptcy last year – after the acquisition of the technical platform, this focus will be expanded. Traditional office furniture manufacturers and retailers also offer leasing or rental models.
