The Spanish Association of Fintech and Insurtech (Aefi) fixed in the general assembly its aspiration to grow by 35% throughout 2019. The recruitment of new partners will be one of the main objectives for the association, to reach 170, in front to the current 126.
To do this, it will open regional delegations (North, South, Catalonia, Levante and Center) that promote the Fintech and Insurtech ecosystems through the organization of events and conferences.
Aims: Increase the relationship and improve the services
Also continue to increase the relationship and improve the services offered to all its members, with the development of new formats such as informal breakfasts on issues of interest to the different verticals that make up the association, and the holding of informative events open to the public.
In the first semester, the Insurtech White Paper will be presented. Judith Giner, vice president of the association, believes that “it is essential that the traditional insurance sector and supervisors have an X-ray of the sector and their needs”.
Sandbox, another important issue
Another objective is to final approval and commissioning of the Sandbox in Spain. After the formation of the new Government, the Aefi will begin a round of meetings with the political parties with representation in the parliamentary arch, to explain that this initiative creates employment, attracts investment and talent, and places Spain at the forefront of financial innovation.
The Aefi continues working to consolidate international relations and will attend on April 10 in Panama to the III Summit of FinTech Associations of Latin America. During this year it will develop a plan to consolidate relations with the different European ecosystems of FinTech.
Thoughts: Arturo González, vice-president of Aefi
Arturo González, vice-president of Aefi, highlights the importance of having “international recognition to prepare the ground for the evolution of different areas in the sector”. “We want to establish communications and relations with the European Parliament to promote regulations in the Fintech and Insurtech ecosystems” he adds.
Thoughts: Rodrigo García de la Cruz
Rodrigo García de la Cruz, president of Aefi, makes a positive assessment of the development of 2018, where the association managed to carry out many strategic projects such as the presentation of a white book of Equity Crowdfunding, the creation of the Fintech Women Network, an initiative that seeks enhance and make visible the female talent of the sector, and participation in the Alianza Fintech Iberoamérica Summit, the largest initiative in Fintech in the region, chaired by Spain.
