Taxonomic organization

The IAB Tech Lab’s Content Taxonomy taxonomy organizes data into nested categories called levels. Each category can contain up to 3 separate levels for data classification. At the highest level, a Level 1 category groups data in its most general form (for example, geography). Later levels provide good specificity to the higher-level general category (eg geography —> United States —> New York). However, not all categories have 3 levels, some use only 2.
