A couple of days ago we mentioned that Android Q would be officially presented on May 7 in the Google I / O 2019. However, it is also very likely that the first developer preview will be released a couple of weeks before the I / O, so that the developers can see some of the novelties of Android Q.
These are some of the new functions of Android Q:
Native support for 3D facial unlocking
So far, 3D facial unlocking wasn’t available on most of the Android phones. Although, we can see this type of technology on phones like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the OPPO Find X or the Xiaomi Mi 8, however, now all the Manufacturers with the necessary hardware can now use Google’s 3D facial recognition.
New sources and outdated applications
Everything seems to indicate that we have new sources available in Android Q, but perhaps one of the most interesting features is that now we can also downgrade an application.
More security and privacy
Android will be much safer, because Google seems to be putting special interest in the permissions that may have several applications. For this, there will be new permissions to access the clipboard of the system, the location in the background and external storage.
Also, we must add the Dark Mode about which we informed you in detail several days ago.
These options will surely be available in the first Android Developer Preview. But as we already know, it is not a guarantee that they will reach the final version of Android Q.
