Amazon offering 4,800 new jobs throughout spain in 2018

Amazon announced that it has created more than 3,200 fixed jobs in Spain in 2018, tripling its fixed workforce in the country in just one year. Thanks to the strong demand from customers and small businesses that use Amazon services, the company doubled the plan announced last July to create 1,600 new jobs in 2018. Amazon currently has more than 4,800 permanent employees throughout Spain.

Amazon created opportunity for all the skills

The jobs created include posts for people of all profiles, levels of training and skills, from engineers and software developers to entry level positions. All of them are located in several areas of the country. From the corporate office in Madrid with more than 1,000 employees, to Barcelona, where Amazon opened a sales support center and a technology center Tech Hub last year, going through the Amazon logistics network throughout Spain. All these jobs include a competitive salary and a complete benefits package. Amazon has invested more than 1,100 million euros in its operations in Spain since 2011.

Mariangela Marseglia, Country Manager of Amazon.es and Amazon.it, said, “We are delighted to have welcomed more than 3,200 new Amazonians to our teams throughout Spain last year, as part of our investment in clients and small companies in Spain “. As well as to help SMEs and local businesses continue to be successful both in Spain and in the rest of the world.”

What else Amazon allows

Amazon allows independent sellers to market their products through Amazon’s web pages and has invested billions of dollars in tools and infrastructures around the world to help those vendors succeed. Thanks to services like Sell on Amazon, Amazon Logistics and Amazon Global Sales, external vendors represent more than half of the units sold on Amazon, and sales of these businesses are growing faster than Amazon’s own sales. More than 10,000 jobs in Spain are backed by companies that sell their products on Amazon.

Independent sellers at Amazon offer a wide variety of new, used, reconditioned and collectable products.

Spanish startups can launch, market and distribute their products to millions of customers on Amazon.es and around the world through Amazon Launchpad, a store opened on Amazon.es last September. Artisans can sell their unique and handcrafted products to hundreds of millions of customers around the world, using the Handmade store. And the store Alimentos y vinos de España, developed in conjunction with ICEX, opens the doors of gastronomy and local food producers to customers all over the world.

Many of the jobs have been created in the logistics centers of San Fernando de Henares and Getafe in Madrid. As well as in El Prat de Llobregat and Martorelles in Barcelona and in the 8 logistics stations located throughout the country.

Fred Pattje, Amazon Operations Director for Spain, Italy and France, commented, “The creation of fixed jobs in our logistics centers and throughout the network demonstrates Amazon’s commitment to Spain.
