Ringier Digital Ventures is investing in Home Sharing Start-up Airgreets as part of a recent round of financing. The company is the leading home sharing service for hosts on Airbnb in the DACH region.
Airgreets, a start-up company founded in 2016, is a home sharing service that enables frequent travelers to temporarily sublease their apartment during their own absences. Airgreets offers an all-round service package that includes applying for the apartment on platforms such as Airbnb, price management, communicating with the temporary subtenants, checking in and cleaning the apartment.
On the one hand, Airgreets’ vision is to ensure the efficient use of empty living space without any hassle for the landlord and, on the other, to develop the hotel of the future, ie to bring high-quality hotel standards to guests in apartments.
“Airgreets recognized the potential of the home-sharing market at an early stage, which was only partially exhausted, especially in the DACH region. In addition to the general innovation and technology trends in the real estate industry, the increased travel volume of the population, as well as the search for alternatives to hotels, confirms the trend towards the home-sharing market », says Benjamin Solenthaler, investment manager Ringier Digital Ventures.
Expansion is key in the plan
Airgreets operates in six German cities and in Vienna and manages more than 30,000 nights in 700 apartments. The investment by Ringier Digital Ventures should help to drive forward the expansion in Switzerland.
“Switzerland is a very interesting market for us. In large cities, there is a great potential for frequent travelers, whose apartments often remain empty for a short time and remain unused. At the same time, the need for short-term accommodation with travelers is very high, “explains Sebastian Drescher, Co-Founder and Managing Director Airgreets.
The fresh capital from the round of financing will be used for the expansion, further growth, and expansion of Airgreets IT.
