3rd Level IAB Taxonomy: Try It in Our Deep Classification API

If you’re interested in a deep categorization API, this article may be adequate for you!

3rd Level IAB Taxonomy: Try It in Our Deep Classification API

What Is a Categorization API? What Is It Used For?

A categorization API can be used to help a business sort their inventory in a database. Categorizing your data is an important part of your organization’s information management. Without it, you’ll find that your operation quickly becomes a mess of unstructured information. That’s why we use categorization and taxonomy systems: to make sense of all the unstructured data we collect everyday.

Are There Different Categorization Levels?

Yes. There are 3 levels to a categorization API:

  • First, there are the basic labels. This is as simple as it sounds—with a basic categorization API, you’re just getting a few broad labels for the image that you’ve submitted. Maybe it just tells you if the image is of an animal or not. Maybe it tells you what kind of animal it is. It’s like seeing something in black and white.
  • Second, there are the mid-level labels. With a mid-level categorization API, your results will be more detailed. So maybe instead of seeing an animal and that’s all, you’ll see the name of an individual species. Or maybe you’ll see the name of a type of plant instead of just “plant.” You’re seeing things in color now!
  • Finally, there’s deep categorization. A deep categorization API allows you to see everything that’s possible to see in an image. You’ll get detailed results about what’s in your picture, and you can find out about objects that are partially obscured by other objects—even if they’re not clearly visible on screen.

Deep Categorization:

Deep categorization is a taxonomy created by the Internet Advertising Bureau to classify and categorize content on the Internet. The IAB taxonomy is made up of three levels: categories, subcategories, and topics. Deep categorization is a way of classifying content that goes beyond the basic classification offered by the IAB taxonomy. Deep categorization adds additional parameters to help advertisers choose the types of websites they want to advertise on and publishers to control which ads appear on their sites. Deep categorization allows for more granular ad placement and helps ensure that ads are appropriate for the audiences they’re reaching.

The need for precision by brands in the categorization of content has continued to grow exponentially. We have included level 3 of the IAB content taxonomy to address this needed. In the new version we have not only improved the precision of pre-existing categories, but we have also added even more categories for you.

Klazify:

Klazify is a search engine that categorizes websites and companies based on their area of expertise. The objective of Klazify is to find, compare, and categorize the greatest websites on the internet (up to 3 levels). In their search engine, deep learning techniques are utilized, which are not only more accurate than traditional classifiers, but also more robust, allowing you to deal with incorrect input data.

Klazify will navigate to the relevant domain name or URL, collect its content, and create appropriate categorizes based on an IAB V2 Standard classification taxonomy, which may then be utilized for 1-1 personalization, marketing segmentation, online filtering, and other applications. As a result, the URL or domain may now be allocated to a category.
